How to Choose Your First Disposable Vape
Decide strength first, capacity second, flavour last. Most people do it in exactly the reverse order, pick a flavour they like the sound of, and end up with a device that is too strong or too big. Flavour is the easiest thing to change next time; nicotine strength is the one that ruins the experience.
1. Nicotine strength
If you are not already a regular nicotine user, start at the lowest strength you can find. 5% — that is 50mg/mL — is aimed at established users, and on someone without a tolerance it typically produces a scratchy throat, light-headedness, nausea or a headache.
Nicotine is addictive. There is no benefit to a higher strength than you need.
2. Capacity
Match it to how much you actually expect to use, not to the biggest number available. A very high-capacity device is more expensive to lose or misplace, and if it is not rechargeable it will likely die with liquid still in it.
Rated puff counts also run well above real use — the conversion is in our guide to puff counts.
3. Rechargeable or not
Above roughly 5,000 puffs, choose rechargeable. Below that a non-rechargeable cell generally outlasts the liquid. The full comparison is here.
4. Flavour
Fruit and menthol profiles are the usual starting point because they are forgiving. If you are moving from cigarettes, tobacco profiles exist but rarely taste like what you are used to — most people find fruit an easier switch.
Our product pages describe what each flavour actually tastes like rather than just naming it.
What not to do
- Do not buy on price alone. Well below market rate usually means counterfeit or expired — see how to spot a fake.
- Do not buy in bulk first time. Buy one, find out whether the strength and flavour suit you, then commit.
- Do not skip the authenticity check. It takes thirty seconds.
